The 3-2-1 backup rule still works
Keep three copies of your data, on two different kinds of storage, with one copy somewhere else entirely. It sounds old-fashioned, but it covers the failures that actually happen: a dead disk, an accidental deletion, a stolen laptop, a fire or a flood.
Two habits matter more than the tooling. First, automate the backup so it does not depend on remembering. Second, test a restore at least once; a backup you have never restored is only a hope. Versioned backups also help against ransomware, because you can go back to a point before the files were encrypted.
